In an age when you have to pay attention to water consumption it is important to delve into the different types of grass in order to achieve significant savings at the time of irrigation.
It is easy to open the tap and take care of our garden with plenty of water because the truth is that this routine can undermine the care of the planet if we take into account the scarcity of water at a global level.
The good news is that we can have a beautiful garden with abundant grass using little water and only if we choose grasses with low water consumption. There are some varieties that are worth considering if you are concerned about ecology as they require little watering and are easy to care for.
Some of them are:
Zoysia tenuifolia (Herb of the Mascarenas)
It is watered once or twice a week in summer and can withstand up to 40 days without water in summer.
Stenotaphrum (Gramon)
It supports up to 30 days without watering and is very easy to maintain as well as supporting the shade of trees and buildings.
Lippia nodiflora
Although it is a type of grass that is not very beautiful in winter, it is very noble as it resists drought very well. It must be watered once every ten days in summer.
Frankenia laevis
It is a lawn that requires one to two weekly waterings during the summer and it can be a different option since it is a vegetation that goes from red to purple in winter. It also has small pink flowers in spring.
