Mulberry is the term we use to refer to trees that are widely used both in urban landscaping and in private gardens that reach a height of 15 meters. Its crown is normally rounded turning to parasolate, formed by precious leaves.

What are their characteristics?
The mulberry leaf is very pretty. Has a limbo -what would be the body of it- more or less ovate, subacute, with toothed margins, thin, glabrous and light green. This measures about 4-6 by 4-5cm centimeters and has a deciduous behavior, which means that at some time of the year -in the case of this tree it is in autumn- it falls.
The nerves are very visible, having a very light green color, and you can even see the pores on their surface if we put it against the light. It is attached to the branch by a petiole (a thin green stalk) 1.5 to 2cm long.

Mulberry leaves they are very decorative. In fact, this is one of the reasons why it is easy for us to find it in almost any temperate garden ... and also in the streets, something that should not be the case due to the root system that the tree has.
Food
No, but not for us (although if I tell you the truth, I have never dared to try it, so I do not know how it will taste). But silkworms love it. Well, it's not that they love it, it's that it's the only thing they eat. Those who like to raise them take a few mulberry leaves and give them to them to grow.
