Origin and characteristics of Albuca spiralis

Our protagonist is a bulbous plant native to the Cape Province of South Africa. The bulb is about 5 centimeters in diameter and sprouts in winter. Twisted leaves sprout from it, forming a bright green rosette. It blooms in spring. The flowers arise from a flower stalk about 60cm long composed of 12 flowers that smell similar to vanilla.
