Our protagonist is an evergreen climbing plant native to China whose scientific name is Clematis armandii. Reaches a height of 4 to 6 meters, although it can be pruned to keep it lower. Its leaves are long, up to 15cm, hanging and ending in a point. The flowers are grouped in inflorescences, they are white and aromatic. It blooms during the spring.

Its growth rate is fast, and it also resists cold and frost. In fact, it is grown without problems in areas where snow makes an appearance every winter, so you won't have to worry about a thing.

What are their cares?

If you dare to have a copy, we recommend that you provide it with the following care:

  • Location: in full sun or in semi-shade, but as regards the base of the plant it prefers shady positions.
  • Irrigation: frequent. You have to water 3-4 times a week in summer, and somewhat less often the rest of the year.
  • Earth:
    • Pot: universal growing substrate mixed with 30% perlite.
    • Garden: it is indifferent as long as it has good drainage.
  • Subscriber: It is recommended to fertilize once a month with organic fertilizers, liquid if it is in a pot or powder if it is on the ground.
  • Pruning: at the end of winter dry, diseased or weak stems must be removed. Those that are growing too much can also be trimmed.
  • Multiplication: by seeds in early spring.
  • Rusticity: supports up to -9ºC.
