Our protagonist is a palm tree whose scientific name is Attalea, although it is popularly known as babaçu. It is native to Brazil, Guyana and Bolivia. It grows to a height of 20 meters, with a single thin trunk 25 to 40 centimeters in diameter.. The leaves are pinnate, with the leaflets arranged in the same plane, and can measure 3-4 meters long. The flowers are grouped in inflorescences that are born between the leaves. The fruit is between 6 and 12cm long, and contains 3-6 ellipsoid-oblong seeds.

It is very decorative. Whether it is grown in small or large gardens, it is one of those plants that you are forced to see every time you pass by how beautiful it is.
