Aquilegia
Aquilegia, known as Aguileña, Copa de Rey, Flor de los jealousy or Colombina, is a perennial herbaceous plant native to South Africa, North America and Central Europe that reaches a height of 30 to 70cm. Its curious flowers, which sprout in spring, in the shape of a turbinate, are of very different colors: white, blue, pink, red, yellow, orange, brown.
Convallaria majalis
It is a bulbous native to the Mediterranean region known as Lily of the valley, Convalaria, Muget or Muguetes. Reaches a height of up to 25 centimeters, and blooms in spring. The white bell-shaped flowers sprout from a flower stalk that arises from the center of the plant.
Dianthus caryophyllus
Known as carnation, it is a perennial herbaceous plant native to the Mediterranean basin that reaches a height of between 45 and 60 centimeters. It blooms from spring to autumn, being able to do it also at the beginning of winter if the weather is mild. The flowers are fragrant, with colors ranging from red to white, through salmon, pink and bicolor.
Rudbeckia hirta
La Rudbeckia hirta, known as is a herbaceous perennial native to the eastern United States that reaches a height of up to 90 centimeters. The flowers are compound and large, reddish-yellow in color with a red center. It blooms towards the end of spring and into the middle of autumn.
Zantesdechia aethiopica
Known as Cala, Water Lily, Alcatraz, Ethiopian Ring, Cartridge or Cala Lily, it is a perennial plant native to the Cape region of South Africa that reaches a height of between 30 and 60 centimeters. At the beginning of spring their spathes sprout - what we confuse with flowers 🙂 - white, yellow or orange depending on the cultivar.
