Have you heard of black cumin? This is a spice that is certainly not very well known yet. However, the plant from which it is extracted is very interesting as it produces very decorative flowers. You do not believe me?
This being the case, you leave me no choice but to invite you to continue reading this article. Once your reading is finished you will know how to grow it in your garden or balcony,
Origin and characteristics
First of all, let's see what the plant is like. Native to Asia, it is an annual herbaceous plant whose scientific name is Nigella sativa. It reaches a height of 30 to 60cm, and has very divided leaves, so much that they look like filaments, of green color. The flowers are purple or white, and measure 2cm. The fruit is a brownish capsule when ripe, inside which we find numerous dark gray to black seeds.
Its growth rate is very fast; Not in vain, it only has ten to eleven months to germinate, grow and produce seeds before the cold arrives.
How do you take care of yourself?
If you want to make a copy or buy some seeds, we recommend you follow these tips:

- Multiplication: by seeds in spring. Direct sowing in the seedbed or in the garden, leaving a distance of 4-5cm between them.

What do you think?
Hello good, I would like to know what is the process that must be carried out to germinate the black cumin seed. Thanks
Hi Hamza.
They are sown in spring, directly in pots. They are covered with a thin layer of substrate and watered.
They germinate fast, in two weeks or so.
A greeting.

Thank you,
Christina.
