Origin and characteristics
The term nuptial crown in gardening refers to a series of herbaceous plants endemic to Chile that belong to the genus Francoa, which is composed of seven species among which are the F. appendiculata and F. sonchifolia. They reach a height of up to one meter. Its leaves are round, grow in rosettes, and are dark green.
The flowers are grouped in compact clusters, they measure about 2 centimeters, and can be white or pink. They bloom in summer and early fall.
What are their cares?

- Location: outside, in full sun. You can also have them in semi-shade as long as they receive more light than shade.
- Earth:
- Pot: universal growing substrate mixed with 30% perlite.
- Garden: it is indifferent as long as it has good drainage and be fertile.
- Irrigation: It will depend on the season of the year as well as the climate, but in general it should be watered about 3-4 times a week during the summer and every 4-5 days the rest of the year.
- Subscriber: from early spring to late summer with organic fertilizers once a month.
- Multiplication: by seeds in spring. Direct sowing in seedbed.
- Rusticity: withstand cold and frosts down to -4ºC. If it is colder in your area, protect your wedding crown indoors, in a bright room without drafts.
