Caring for the mini bonsai, the mame

Bonsai

Among the different recognized sizes of the bonsai technique we can find those known as mom, that is, those that do not exceed 15cm in height. In nature you can find trees that, due to the conditions that have affected them, remain as small trees. Although it is also true that in Japan the culture of having smaller and smaller plants is something that they like a lot and that over time they are perfecting to limits ... incredible.

But let's go back to the subject that touches us, that of mini bonsai or mame. This type of bonsai is the most demanding, the ones that need the most care since being in a mini tray and having so little substrate, it needs very frequent waterings and specific growing conditions.

The mame do not differ more than in size with respect to the other Bonsai. They must also have a specific style, and use a quality substrate, suitable for the climate where you will live. And of course they must be abroad. Let's not forget that they are trees, that they are living beings, and they are not genetically programmed to be indoors.

But it will be very important that we watch it a lot, because as we said before, needs very frequent waterings. To water it properly we can use a sprayer or a plastic syringe sold in pharmacies.

It is highly recommended to protect it from drafts, so we will prevent the substrate from drying out more than it should and the tree can be damaged. Likewise, to keep the humidity longer in summer, we can place a plate or tray underneath that we will remove after half an hour of watering it.

Although we see it so small, to have a bonsai shape it will need us to work it as such, always respecting the adequate time to successfully perform each action.
