Fine-leaved crown (Coronilla juncea)

Coronilla juncea flower

In the fields we can find very ornamental plants, such as the Juncea crown. This is a very drought resistant shrub; not in vain we can find it in the Mediterranean region, where rainfall is very scarce.

It doesn't grow much, so it is ideal for growing in pots or in the garden. You just have to take into account a series of things that I am going to tell you below.

Origin and characteristics

Coronilla juncea plant

La Juncea crown it is a shrubby plant up to 2 meters known as crown, tostonera, or crown of fine leaves. Its stems are green, with long internodes and very easy to crush. The leaves are deciduous, odd-pinnate, with 2 or 3 pairs of leaflets. The flowers, which sprout in spring and summer, are grouped in number from 2 to 6 and are yellow. The fruit is a legume.

It is native to the western Mediterranean, found in the east, center and south of the Iberian Peninsula, as well as in Mallorca and Menorca.
