Deciduous trees, ideal for shady corners

Trees of feeble leaves

A garden that is directly exposed to the sun is a great advantage, as well we can be completely sure that no flea or tick will bother us; but it is also a problem, especially in summer, since if we want to protect ourselves from the rays of the sun and be able to continue enjoying the outdoors ... we will not be able.

The truth is that the extremes are very negative, so we are going to recommend a series of Trees of feeble leaves so you can have a special green corner.

Deciduous trees for cold climates, with intense frosts

acer carpinifolium

acer carpinifolium

If you live in a place with a cold climate, where there are significant frosts and / or snowfalls every year, you can put these trees:

  • Acer Genre: it is a very extensive botanical genus, and very decorative. In it we find the Japanese maples (Acer palmatum), the false banana maple (Acer pseudoplatanus), red maple (Acer), and many, many others. They like mild summer temperatures, below 30ºC, and cold winters.
  • Genus Aesculus: Although the whole genre is very interesting, we recommend the Castaño de Indias (Aesculus hippocastanum), as it is much easier to get. It is a very large tree that grows to 20m, but you can always prune it in autumn to late winter to lower its height.
  • Genus Quercus: oaks are very hardy trees. Of course, it must be said that they have a very slow growth rate. But in autumn they are a spectacle, as their leaves change color, from green to yellow.
  • Genus Fagus: Beech trees are impressive trees, especially in autumn when their leaves are dressed up, when they change color.

Deciduous trees for temperate climates, with occasional or very mild frosts

Bauhinia x blakeana

If, on the other hand, you have a mild climate, these other trees will interest you more:

  • Genus Bauhinia: they are trees that stand out on their own. Its flowers are very, very beautiful, as you can see in the image above. They grow quickly, and you can also have them in small gardens.
  • Flamboyan: el Delonix direction It is normally an evergreen tree, if we grow it in a cool climate it behaves like deciduous. It is very beautiful, but it will only live well if the temperature never drops below 0 degrees.
  • Genus Acacia: the acacia genus comprises evergreens (such as the A. saligna) or expires (such as A. farnesiana). Any of the species will help you to get a little corner of shade.
  • Jacaranda: Something similar happens with the jacaranda with the flamboyant, and if the climate is mild it keeps all its leaves, but if the winter is cool it loses them. But it is very interesting to have in a garden, since it supports up to -3ºC, and is very decorative.

Do you know other deciduous trees? 🙂
