DIY: Make your own flower tower

With the arrival of good weather, you want to see the garden full of flowers, right? An idea to decorate it would be to go to a nursery and buy some seedlings, with which you could create really spectacular floral rugs, but we propose a more original one if possible: make your own flower tower.

It is much easier than it seems, and the best thing is that you will have it ready in no time. We teach you how to do it.

Before we start, let's see what do you need to have a beautiful tower of flowers:

  • Plastic pot, slightly deeper than wide
  • Plastic ropes
  • Stones
  • Brown canvas
  • Metal mesh
  • Substratum
  • American tape
  • Drain pipes
  • And of course, flowers

Step by step

Now that you have it all, it's time to take action.

The first thing you have to do is place the mesh inside the pot, as you can see in the image above.

Now, grab the drain tube and cover one of its ends with duct tape.

Next, introduce the tube into the pot, and place lots of stones so that it is well attached.

Then, put the tarp down between the mesh and the tube. Put some zip ties on the top of the tarp to attach it to the mesh.

Fill the space between the tube and the tarp with substratum.

At last, you can plant your plants. Put them in the order you like best. Make cuts in the shape of a »T» wherever you want to put one, and make another one in the drain tube right at the points where you planted it. Thus, the water will be able to pass from the tube to the flower.

Looks good, right? But you still have one thing left: water. For it you just have to pour water into the tube.
