Our protagonist is an evergreen tree (although it may drop some leaves if it is cold) native to South America. Its scientific name is Paraserianthes lophantha, but popularly it is known as a feathery acacia, feather albizia or yellow albicia. It can reach a maximum height of 7 meters, with a rounded, somewhat wide crown of 3 meters.

Its leaves are paripinnate, green in color. The flowers, which sprout towards the end of winter, are grouped in inflorescences and are yellow in color.. The fruit is a dry legume that contains round, leathery, black seeds.

  • Location: outside, in full sun.
  • Earth:
    • Garden: it is indifferent. It grows even in poor soils.
    • Pot: universal growing substrate.
