The four-leaf clover, the most curious herb

Potted Four Leaf Clover

The four-leaf clover is a very curious herb. Only its name can already give us a clue that there is something that does not quite fit well, and that is that this plant belongs to the botanical genus Trifolium, a word that comes from Latin and means "three leaflets". Where did the fourth come from?

Well, the truth is that they have not yet managed to find out. It could be a natural variation of common clover, or it could be produced for environmental reasons. Regardless of what the answer is, the four-leaf clover has kept its corner in the garden.

Being an herb, it has a very fast growth rate and really low maintenance. It can grow both in full sun and in semi-shade, in a pot or in the garden, and as it is no more than six inches tall, it is perfect to have anywhere.

Also known as lucky clover, it represents hope, faith, love and, of course, luck. Furthermore, it is said can attract wealth or prosperity. Already in the year 200 a. C. was considered a sacred symbol for the Druids of the British Isles, because they thought that with it they could see demons.

Four Leaf Clover

If you are lucky enough to find one, something that is not an easy task if you take into account that for every four-leaf clover there are about 10.000 three-leaf clover, tradition says that you must wear it in your shoes. However, there are people who prefer to hide it between the pages of a book or use it as a pendant. Too you can take advantage and give it to someone very special to you, like your partner or a family member with whom you feel very close, since today it represents love.

Have you ever found any?

      Hello Jesus.
Well, the truth is that I don't know if they sell it in the nurseries. I guess so, but I don't know. If not, you can always look to buy seeds on ebay.
      A greeting.

      Hi Martha.

It is advisable to rotate the pot every day, so that the plant receives the same amount of light from all sides. This prevents the stems from growing too tall and weak, and too fast.

      Greetings.
