All the fremontia they are bushes or trees that we don't see every day. It is true that the flowers are quite reminiscent of those of some plants, but their bearing and elegance ... is different. And it is that, unlike those that are seasonal, they are going to be beautiful all year, either in the garden or in a pot.
So if you are looking for plants that are truly unique, with which to enjoy a paradise, let us present them to you.
Origin and characteristics
Our protagonists are evergreen trees or shrubs (they remain evergreen) that belong to the genus Fremontodendron, which is composed of two species: F. californicum (with a yellow flower) and F. mexicanum (yellow or red). They are native to North America, found in the western part of the continent. They reach a height of 2-6 meters, with a more or less straight bearing.
The leaves are leathery, dark green, and covered by a grayish down on the underside, as are the young stems and flower buds. The flowers consist of five curved yellow or red petals.
