If you have trees and / or shrubs one of the things you will have to do from time to time is to trim the semi-lignified branches to control their growth and development. Or you may even need to graft them. For either of the two tasks scissors to graft will be very useful.
This tool is not as well known as the pruning shears among amateurs, but I hope that from now on it will be a little more so as it is really useful 🙂.
What is it?
The grafting scissors is a very easy to use tool that is used both for grafting and for pruning branches that are beginning to lignify. The instructions for use are as follows:
- The first thing to do is hold the graft and squeeze the scissors to make the cut.
- Afterwards, the same is done with the rootstock.
- Lastly, they are attached with a graft tape.

What is its maintenance?
Grafting scissors are tools that, like any other, need regular maintenance. When working with plants, it is very important that everything we use to care for them is previously disinfected since otherwise we risk them falling ill due to a fungal infection or any other microorganism.
To avoid it, Before and after using the scissors we must clean them with a cotton or cloth moistened with pharmacy alcohol, and then store them in a place protected from direct sun.
