It is the fashionable plant. The gel from its leaves has more than proven medicinal properties, and its easy cultivation has earned it its place in our garden or on our patio. You know about the plant I'm talking about, right? But, to get to know her even better, let's see how to care for an aloe vera plantWell, even if it is very resistant, it is always preferable to know what you need to enjoy great health.
Let's unravel the mystery.
Aloe vera is a plant of Arabic origin and naturalized throughout the Mediterranean. It grows and develops without difficulty in climates with mild frosts, always protected from direct sun since its leaves have a tendency to burn if they have direct solar radiation for a long time.
It can be had both in a pot and planted in the garden. In fact, You can take the opportunity to make -both in one place and in another- small rockeries combining several succulent plants with decorative stones, and putting for example volcanic clay on top of the substrate.
Living in arid climates, you don't need a lot of watering. As usual, during the summer it will be watered once a week and the rest of the year every 15 days, especially if the climate is rather dry and hot.
To get a well-cared for aloe vera plant, it is not necessary to pay it, although we must know that it does not hurt. If we want to pay it from time to time we will use an ecological and natural fertilizer, such as guano (following the manufacturer's recommendations) or worm castings. We can also use special chemical fertilizers for cacti, but only if we are not going to use their leaves, since otherwise our own health could be at risk.
The Aloe vera plant is very grateful. You will see how with these cares you will have it beautiful.
I need to know if I plant an aloe vera leaf or place it with a little water, it pulls roots. Thanks
Hello Noemi.
Unfortunately it cannot be reproduced by leaf cuttings. To have a new Aloe vera plant, its seeds can only be sown in spring, or the suckers can be separated and planted in individual pots during spring or summer.
