How to dye flowers?

As everyone will have noticed and surely enjoy it enormously, nature gives us precious, beautiful and delicate flowers. However, many times we can prefer some colors over others, or simply want to play with flowers and colors, to create different tones that nature simply does not produce. To achieve this, it is necessary that we dye them.

Without a doubt, if you want to surprise someone or simply make a curious and beautiful gift, you can use the technique that we bring you today, to create your own colorful flowers. In the same way, dyeing your flowers can be quite useful to match the style of your home and its decoration.

First of all, you need to get white flowers, as they will be ideal because they will absorb the color much better and offer better results. I recommend that you look for carnations or roses, but if you prefer other flowers you can also use them. Remember that to start dyeing them you must follow the step by step that we bring you today, so pay close attention.

One of the techniques that can serve you and be most useful to you is through water absorption. You will need to introduce in a container with half a liter of water, a tablespoon of aniline or natural or vegetable coloring, you can also use Chinese ink. Everything must be natural to prevent the flower from dying. Then you must cut the stem diagonally with a razor blade, and introduce it in the previous preparation and let it rest for about 3 days, in a place with a lot of light.

If this technique doesn't work for you or just doesn't convince you, you can try the direct absorption. However, this is not as recommended as the previous one, since the dyeing is of lower quality. To perform this technique you must put 2 tablespoons of India ink in a glass of water and heat it for a while in the sun. Then submerge the flower upside down, letting it rest for 24 hours. This technique is much faster, although not with such good results.
