How to order the plants

Sarracenia leucophylla

Are you one of those people who have several types of plant species and do not know how to distribute the pots so that your plants grow healthy? If so, welcome to the club! Jokes away: if you are in love with plants and it happens that you really do not opt for any type because you consider that they are all interesting, in the end the limitation of space becomes noticeable and that is when the doubt arises how to order the plants.

So how are they ordered? Well, the best thing is that we go by parts, that is, that we make a section according to the type of plant it is, to know what care it needs. Shall we start?

Carnivorous plants

The carnivorous plants must be all together in a corner, because they need a special type of water (rain or osmosis) and in a location in full sun with the exception of some species such as those of the genus Cephalotus, Darlingtonia or Drosera which should not give them direct sunlight so that their leaves do not "burn".

Bonsai

I advise bonsai and pre-bonsai to be outdoors unless they are tropical species that must be indoors during winter. Ideally, when working with them, can be done without having to move it around.

Bonsai are trees that must be outdoors

Acidophilic plants

Plants such as maples, hydrangeas, azaleas, magnolias or camellias, among others, should be placed in an area where they have direct sun for 3-4 hours a day. If you live in a temperate climate with mild summers (no more than 30º maximum temperature), you can put them in full sun. These types of plants need an acidic water and substrate with a pH between 4 and 6.

Cacti and plants of desert or semi-desert origin

Succulent plants, whether or not they have thorns, being mostly native to arid climates, require a substrate that facilitates rapid water drainage. For this, black peat will be mixed with 50% perlite, or mixtures will be made with other types of substrates, such as pumice and vermiculite for example. It must be taken into account that the less peat is used, the greater the frequency of irrigation. Depending on this and the climate in your area, you must choose between one substrate or another.

Mammillaria

Cacti and succulents need a substrate that facilitates rapid water drainage

Finally, to have it even more organized, do not forget the identification labels that you will find in any nursery or garden store.
