Although to have a healthy garden it is important to ensure that all insects can lead a normal life without having to worry about pesticides, the truth is that there are some whose larvae are potentially dangerous for plants: the insects moths.
Surely you have heard a lot about them and how to repel moths at home, but ... what about in the garden? What can we do?
Lavenders plant
Lavender is an evergreen sub-shrub that remains as beautiful as the first day (or longer) for a long time. It grows quickly to a height of approximately 1 meter, and its lilac inflorescences are so beautiful that, when they bloom in spring, they are a delight for the eyes and for our smell, as their aroma is very pleasant for humans ..., but not for moths. In fact, it is the plant that is most used to repel them.
Keep the furniture clean
You will see moths not only on plants, but also on furniture. To avoid it, it is of utmost importance to keep them clean. In addition, if they are made of wood or resin, we must avoid leaving them out in the open if we live in an area where it rains regularly, since they would spoil and, when doing so, they would attract them.
Do not leave pruning or cut herbs in the garden
Ideally put the freshly removed herbs in the composter and discard the logs (or use them to make a fire if it is autumn-winter). Rotting plant matter attracts moths, so try to make your garden as "clean" as possible. This way, we won't have to worry about them.
Treat your plants with garlic
If you have seen moths on your plants, treat them with garlic. Just you have to mix two tablespoons of garlic and two cups of water in a sprayer. To make it more effective, you can add a small spoonful of soap so that the moths stick to it.
