How to transplant indoor plants

Traplant indoor plants

Unlike plants that grow on land, plants potted plants they must be transplanted so that they can achieve good development.

But how do we find out what is the right time to perform the pot transplant? The inside plants they have to be transplanted as soon as the pot becomes small. The signs that betray this moment are: little or no growth, abnormally small, pale or yellowish leaves, or the appearance of roots at the base of the pot.

To transplant, remove the plant from the pot and examine the roots. If they are very tangled in a spiral, or densely intertwined, if they reach the surface of the earth, or if new shoots begin to emerge from the top, it is time to transplant them.

The best time is in spring or early summer. For young plants it is usually convenient to change pot once a year, while for old plants once every two or three years is enough.

When the plant already has the maximum size of pot that suits it, or has reached its adult size, change the top layer of soil every one or two years, taking care not to leave the main roots in the air. Then you must fill with new soil for indoor plants.

If you have cacti, so fashionable these days, you should know that they also need change pot and they require some specific care.

      Hi Ruddy.
Great that you are interested in learning more about plants. In this blog you will find a lot of information on that topic 🙂

Regarding your question, it depends on whether you are in the northern or southern hemisphere. If you are in the north, as we are in winter, it is better to wait a little, until March / April.

On the other hand, if you are in the south, it is better to wait until the end of September.

      Greetings.
