When we want to get ready to do a task, first it is highly advisable prepare everything you will need. In this way, we will save much more time and we will be able to focus on what we are doing, which in this case will be a craft that will surely leave everyone speechless. So, prepare the following:

  • Fine pliers
  • Filament bulb (it does not matter if it is melted), which is made of transparent glass
  • Substrate, such as some black peat or, if you are planting succulents, perlite
  • Syringe with a little water to irrigate

Now that you have it all, let's move on to the next step. The most interesting: create our own planter.

Step by step

The first thing we have to do is pierce the bulb socket (or remove it with tweezers) and thus be able to extract the filaments that are inside. Do it very carefully so as not to hurt yourself; To avoid taking unnecessary risks, you can wear gloves. Then you just have to remove the filaments, leaving the bulb completely empty.

Next, add a little substrate, moisten it a little (as it is a small space and as there are no holes for drainage, it is very important to prevent the earth from being flooded, since otherwise the plants that we put would rot). Then put the seeds you want to grow, or small plants.

To finish, water it with the syringe and hang it with a string, or tape it to stick it on, for example, a window.

Did you know how to use a light bulb to make a flower pot? What do you think?

How do I open a hole as round as that without damaging the bulb?

      Hi Sebastian.
With tweezers you can remove the metal thread, yes, with gloves in case the glass breaks.
But an easier way is to simply cut it roughly in half - just on one side - with a long, flat knife.
      A greeting.

But I would like to know how that hole is opened directly in the bulb, as the image shows, I know that the tweezers are to remove the inside, but the one in the image the bulb was cut.

      Hello Marielos.
You can pierce the metal thread with an ice pick, and with a lot of patience 🙂.
      A greeting.
