Home remedies against aphids and other insects

Nettle

The aphids They are great enemies of plants, a very frequent pest that you can eradicate by doing some Home Remedies from natural products.

These insects feed on the sap of plants and that is why they affect their proper development but there are always solutions at hand that can help prevent the appearance of this pest. An example? Grow nettle in your garden as it is a plant that works as an insecticide. You can mix 100 grams of nettle in 1 liter of water for fifteen days and then strain the mixture and finally spray on the plants and also on the ground to prevent the famous aphids from appearing as well as fungi and other insects.

Another home remedy is prepared from 100 grams of Horse tail which are soaked in 1 liter of water for 24 hours. Then it is boiled for a few minutes. Once the mixture is cold, it is diluted in water in a 1/5 ratio and then applied on the plants to fumigate.

Another great way to avoid aphids is plant herbs like basil, sage, coriander, rosemary, garlic, lavender, lemon balm, and mint, which have a strong odor that repels insects. The opposite case is the plants that attract certain insects that help prevent the appearance of pests such as aphids (eg: parasitic wasps, spiders, chinitas or ladybugs, bees, butterflies). This is the case of Borage (Borago officinalis), the mint, dill, calendula, marigold or basil.

Chamomile is also very beneficial as it activates the microbial population in the soil or compost. You have to mix 50 grams of chamomile in 10 liters of water to form an infusion. Then it is strained and applied on the plants.
