Our protagonist it is a subshrub plant that reaches 30 centimeters originally from the mesomediterranean floor whose scientific name is Thymus piperella. It is popularly known as olive thyme, pepper thyme, pebrella thyme, or pebrella. It develops erect stems that arise from the base, with ovate, flat leaves, with a short green petiole.

The flowers grow in lax verticillars, with glandular calyx. The corolla is pink. They appear during the summer (from July to the end of September in the northern hemisphere).
