Pests on climbing plants

As we have already seen on different occasions, the creepers, or climbing plants, are plants that serve us to decorate walls, walls or any other place; they can make a pergola look more beautiful and natural than it really is. However, it is important that, like any other plant, we pay close attention to it and watch out for pests or diseases to attack them.

It is for this reason, that today, we bring you some of the pests that affect climbing plants and vines, so take note and pay close attention so that you know exactly how to spot and remove them.

First of all, we have mealybugs, which have a kind of protective shield that can be of different colors and textures. The problem with this pest is that they stick their beak into the leaves and suck the sap, causing the leaves to turn yellowish and later drop dead. It is important that when detecting them, we remove them with a cotton pad soaked in alcohol.

We can also find another plague, aphids, which, like mealybugs, absorb the sap from the leaves, causing them to deform as if they were shoots. These animals are usually brown, black, or yellow, and can be sprayed with soapy water. It is important that, if it is a very strong attack, you apply some type of special insecticide to eliminate them.

La White fly, is another of the plangas that can affect our climbing plant or creeper. They are small white animals that usually attack the back of the leaves, they are generally easy to detect since the leaves turn yellow. If you notice these types of animals on your plants, you can shake the leaves and they will fly away, but I recommend that you use a special product so that they do not affect your plants and their flowers again.
