Planting rose bushes in planters

Planted rose bushes

This morning I went to the market in my town, and I found that they had brought several beautiful tall rose bushes, very healthy, and also, on offer. How could it be otherwise, I wanted to take advantage of the situation, since it is very difficult to find these types of plants with such a low price, and I have brought three.

As I cannot have them planted in the garden because I have three dogs and they are very naughty, I had no choice but to plant them in a planter that I had kept in the garage. Do you want to know the step by step?

Red rose bush

The color red is one of those colors that most attract our attention. This rose, in addition to being very beautiful, has a very pleasant smell. In addition to this beautiful rose bush, I have brought these two:

Pink rosebush

This pink one has come to the garden for being different from the ones there were.

Red rose bush

And ... what to say about this beautiful red rose? It seems velvety, worthy of being the protagonist of any garden.

Step by step

Step 1:

The first step is to have the materials ready. In this case it has been needed:

-Large plastic tray (one meter long)

Planter

-Substrate for outdoor plants

Substratum

-Shower with water

Watering can

Step 2:

Once we have everything ready, we can start. Due to the dimensions of the planter, it is highly recommended to already work in the location where the plants will be.

We will fill the planter up to, more or less, half. I advise adding a little more substrate because as we water, the substrate will gradually come out through the drainage holes, and the plants will "go down". It is a very, very slow process, but in the long term it shows. To delay this for as long as possible, it is convenient to add more substrate than we normally would.

Fill planter

Step 3:

The next step is to carefully remove the rose bush from the pot, tapping the edge of the pot with the palm of your hand, and on both sides. Once the plant is out, we will check that the root ball has not collapsed and that the roots are healthy:

Step 4:

Place the rose bush in the planter, on the side that we like the most, and secure it with substrate. It is important that for the moment we only hold it, since, in the event that we later want to make changes, it will be much easier for us. We will proceed in the same way with the other two rose bushes:

Hold rose bush

Step 5:

Once we have the rose bushes in the planter, we can only finish filling. Taking advantage of the fact that the planter is large, it is more advisable than on a substrate, to take only what is initially needed, due to what has been said before (eventually some substrate is lost).

Step 6:

Last but not least: we will only have to water abundantly. As it is the first watering and, in addition, the rose bushes are plants that need a lot of humidity in the substrate but without being flooded, we will water with enough water. In this case, it has been watered with a five-liter watering can.

Watering rose bushes

Rose bushes are shrubby plants with a very beautiful flower. There are red, pink, bicolor, almost black navy blue, ...; some with odor and others without odor ... But all have in common their great ornamental value and their resistance to ... practically everything. Although it is common for the flowers to fill with aphids now in spring, it is also true that if we do preventive treatments they will always look strong and healthy.

Many of us have grown up surrounded by rose bushes, and we know how wonderful it can be to have a rose plant in your life. Get up in the morning, go out to the garden, and feel the pleasant smell coming from those very elegant flowers ... Without taking into account that, in addition, they are present on many special days: on Book Day, on Valentine's Day, on Mother's Day ... With minimal care, you can enjoy your rose bushes for a long, long time.
