Did you know that you can generate your own plant through a leaf? Yes. leaves they can also serve to reproduce a new plant. But only some of them serve as seed and allow a new flowering. It is not something that can be done with any plant, but it is possible to do it with some species and in a very simple way. The most effective way is to use the "baby" leaves, the smallest ones, because they will grow faster.

To transplant them you only need soil, a pot, a sharp knife and a plastic bag. The best season to carry out this process are the hot months, the spring and summer seasons.

Al plant a leaf in a pot, you have to wait at least a couple of weeks for small leaves to bloom. When these are about a third the size of the mother plant, remove them from the pot and clean a little of the soil.

So not only are you going to have a plant, but some more are going to emerge. Then you have to separate them delicately and plant them in small individual pots.

You can use this technique to reproduce the african violet, rex begonias and other begonias with rhizomes, cape primroses (streptocarpus) and gloxinia (sinningia).

In the case of crassula, sedums, kalanchoe and other succulent plants, you just have to place the leaf in the soil of the earth, without even burying it: in a few weeks some roots will appear first and then a small plant (in this case only one).

Do you dare to try this type of reproduction in your garden? Go ahead!
