When we think of climbing plants, plants that grow so large that they completely cover walls, lattices, fences or dry tree trunks, immediately come to mind. But, What happens if our garden is rather small or if we want to cover a small area? Well, nothing serious, quite the opposite.
There are a number of small climbers that will serve our purpose. Like the ones you can see below.
Velvetleaf
Withstands cold and frost up to -7ºC.
Cobea
The cobea, whose scientific name is Cobaea scandens, is a very fast growing climber that blooms from summer to late fall. She likes to be protected from the king star, so that we can put her for example in a lattice that we have in the relaxation area. Withstands frosts down to -3ºC.
Clematis
All the Clematis They are normally deciduous climbers that, although they can occupy a considerable space, can be pruned without problems whenever necessary. Depending on the variety, they produce large flowers throughout the spring and summer, and can be in both full sun and partial shade. Usually, withstand frosts down to -4ºC.
Hypomea
The Ipomea is a climbing herbaceous plant that behaves as a perennial in hot climates or as an annual (lasting one year) in cold climates. Its growth is also fast, and it produces flowers from summer to fall. It must be placed in full sun so that it can grow and develop well, although it tolerates semi-shade. Supports up to -3ºC.
Jazmín
Climbing plants of the genus Jasminum are some of the most beloved: not only because their flowers are very beautiful, but also because they give off a very pleasant aroma. They are evergreen plants that reach a height of no more than 5 meters, which must be placed in a semi-shaded exhibition. They support up to -4ºC if they are sheltered.
