Cherry trees, whether for ornamental or culinary use, are a real wonder, but there are species that attract more attention than others, and of course the one that I present to you on this occasion is one of those that you will not be able to stop enjoying. Its scientific name is Prunus x subhirtella, but it is known more as spring cherry.
It is a tree that can be grown both in the garden and in a potas long as the weather is mild. In addition, it gives a very good shade as it grows.
Origin and characteristics
Our protagonist It is a deciduous tree native to Japan, the result of a cross; that is, it is a hybrid species of Incised Prunus y Prunus spachiana. Its scientific name is Prunus x subhirtella The popular names are winter flowering cherry, spring cherry, or Higan cherry.
It reaches an approximate height of 7-10 meters, with a crown composed of whole, toothed leaves of a beautiful green color that turns reddish in autumn. Its flowers are white or pink that bloom from past summer to spring.
Care

- Garden: fertile, well drained, and preferably acidic (pH 6 to 7).
