Long before modern medicines were invented, mankind relied on plants when it wanted to alleviate their symptoms, regardless of what they had. It is true that at that time there was nothing else to turn to, but today many pharmaceutical products are made with plant components.

What are medicinal trees?
These plants are those from which extract products that are used to make medicines both natural and chemical. An example is the aspirin or acetylsalicylic acid, a medicine we usually have at home. These tablets are made with a component obtained from salicin from willows in 1853 by Charles Frederic Gerhardt. When there were no medicines, willow leaves were used to make infusions and preparations for the same purpose as aspirin: to relieve pain, inflammation or fever.

The carob legumes, for example, known as carob beans, are one of the most effective remedies in cases of constipation. On the other hand, linden flowers and bracts in infusion they can help you sleep better, since they are very useful against insomnia, stress and other nerve problems.
And that is not to mention the amount of trees and plants found in the rainforests that are not yet known and that could be the cure we are looking for for diseases as serious as cancer or AIDS.
