What are ornamental shrubs?

The bushes are characterized mainly by their size, that is to say they have a height that does not usually exceed 3 meters. They are very valuable plants because they have many uses and do not take up as much space as a tree.

Another important characteristic of these species is that they are branched from the ground. That means that they develop several stems from below the ground, unlike common trees that have only one trunk.

However, like trees, there are deciduous or evergreen shrubs. Each autumn, the deciduous ones throw away all their leaves while the others keep them during the winter.

There are shrubs that have leaves of various shades and some have decorative fruits or aromatic flowers. These species also serve as a refuge for a whole fauna of insects, birds and small mammals.

Ornamental shrubs are a type of very valuable and fundamental plant since in most gardens they are used to make hedges and borders that separate areas. That is why you can take them into account if you want to beautify your garden and add more green to your space.

Some species (short and spreading growth) are used to cover the soil. Other shrubs are used in small houses or apartments because they can be planted in pots and planters and are used to decorate balconies and terraces.

Without a doubt, we are talking about specimens to take into account in your urban garden because they give us freshness and green.
