June is a very interesting month: spring comes to an end in the northern hemisphere and the hottest season of the year begins, summer. During the next three months our horticultural plants will need much more frequent watering, since the loss of water through evaporation will be greater. Without a doubt, this is not the best time to sow ... or maybe it is?
If you are one of those who enjoys watching plants grow since they are only seeds, You will be interested in knowing what to sow in June in the garden. And it is true that the climate is not the most suitable for according to which species, but for many others ... it could not be more 🙂.
What can be sown directly into the ground?
Sowing in the ground is a very beautiful experience, because it is almost like reproducing the natural cycle of plants, as if they were in their habitat. But so that there are no problems it is important to prepare it; that is, remove the wild grasses and stones, put a layer of organic compost on it and mix it with the earth, and finally install the system of drip irrigation.
Once everything is done, we can sow the following plants (those that are in Cursive can be sown in seedbed too):
- Chard
- Artichoke
- Zucchini
- Pumpkin
- Cilantro
- Parsnip
- Greens
- Jewish
- Corn
- Nabo
- Parsley
- Radish
- Arugula
- Carrot
What can be sown in a seedbed?
Sowing in a seedbed is very interesting, since in addition allows us to better monitor the germination and development of plants. To do this, what we have to do is buy a seedbed tray (like this one here) and substrate, either specific for seedlings (like this one from here) or universal (you can get it here).
Now that we have it all we can sow the following plants (those that are in Cursive can be sown directly into the ground as well):
- Chicory
- Alficoz
- Eggplant
- Zucchini
- Pumpkin
- Onion
- Cilantro
- Collar
- Jewish
- Oak leaf lettuce
- Melon
- Parsley
- Peppers (fat, Italian, padrón)
- Watermelon
- Tomato
