Are white flowers your weakness? White has always been a very accepted color among the population. Proof of this are, for example, the facades of the houses, or the gardens themselves. For a long time it has been related to positive things such as peace, so it is common for there to be plants with this type of flowers practically anywhere.
Luckily for you, there are a wide variety of species that have white flowers. Some are trees, some are climbers, and some are smaller plants that grow easily in pots or planters. Here we show you 10 of them.
Camellia or tea plant (Camellia sinensis)
La Camellia sinensis It is a shrub or evergreen tree native to southern China and Southeast Asia that reaches a height of between 1-9 meters. Blooms during spring, producing flowers 2-4 centimeters in diameter.
It requires semi-shade, and an acidic soil, with a pH between 4 and 6. Irrigation will be moderate, also with acidic water or without lime. Supports up to -4ºC.
Snowdrop (galanthus nivalis)
El galanthus nivalis It is a bulbous plant native to Europe and Asia that reaches a height of 10-15 centimeters. Its flowers bloom in late winter, and they are small, between 1,5 and 2,5 centimeters in diameter.
Its bulb is planted in autumn, in a land with good drainage, and it is watered in a moderate way preventing it from drying out. It supports up to -18ºC, but you must bear in mind that after flowering the aerial part (leaves, flowers) will wither, and that it will not be until the next season when they come out again.

Common Catalpa (catalpa bignonioides)

La catalpa bignonioides It is a deciduous tree native to the southeastern United States that reaches 15 meters in height. Its flowers are grouped in inflorescences called panicles and are about 10 centimeters in diameter. Blooms in spring.
It is widely used as an ornamental and shade plant, capable of living in sunny exposures and in a wide variety of different climates (and microclimates) as long as the minimum temperature is not below -18ºC. It does not withstand drought.

Dimorphotheca (Dimorphotheca ecklonis)

La Dimorphotheca ecklonis It is a lively plant native to South Africa that reaches a height of up to 1 meter, and a diameter of up to 2 meters as its stems branch out and grow horizontally. It blooms for a good part of the yearespecially from spring to summer.
It lives well in both sunny and semi-shaded exposures, and requires moderate watering. It becomes somewhat resistant to drought from the second year that it is cultivated on land. Supports up to -4ºC.
Echinopsis (Echinopsis subdenudata)

El Echinopsis subdenudata It is an endemic cactus from Bolivia and Paraguay that reaches a height of about 5-7 centimeters. Its stem is globular, medium green in color and lacks thorns. Blooms in summer, producing flowers of up to 4-5 centimeters in diameter which are fragrant.
Like most cacti, it wants sun (as long as it gets used to it little by little), spaced waterings and a mineral soil that drains water well. It supports up to -4ºC, although it requires protection against hail, especially during its youth.
Gardenia (Gardenia jasminoides)

La Gardenia jasminoides It is a shrub or evergreen tree native to Asia that reaches a height between 2 and 8 meters. Its flowers bloom throughout the springThey measure about 4 centimeters in diameter and are aromatic.
It grows in semi-shade, in an area where it does not get direct sunlight at any time. The soil should have a low pH, between 4 and 6, and will be watered moderately with rainwater or without lime.
Supports up to -2ºC.
Star magnolia (Starry magnolia)

La Starry magnolia It is a small deciduous tree native to Japan that grows between 2 and 3 meters in height. Blooms during spring, sprouting before the leaves, they are aromatic and measure 7 to 10 centimeters in diameter.
To survive, it needs protection from the sun, as well as an acid soil (pH 4 to 6). Likewise, the irrigation water must be rain or, failing that, acidic too, without lime. Said irrigation will be moderate as it does not withstand drought.
Supports up to -18ºC.
Common daisy (Bellis perennis)

La Bellis perennis It is a herbaceous perennial native to Europe, North Africa and Central Asia that reaches a height of up to 20 centimeters. Blooms in spring, producing flowers 1-2 centimeters in diameter.
It grows in full sun, and is not demanding in terms of soil. Of course, you have to water it from time to time because it does not resist drought. Withstands cold and frosts down to -7ºC.
Butterfly orchid (Phalaenopsis)
All the Phalaenopsis they are epiphytic orchids, rarely lithophytes, native to Southeast Asia. They grow to a height of 1-2 meters, although their growth is quite slow. They produce flowers in spring, grouped in lateral inflorescences.
They require a protected exposure from the sun, specific substrate for orchids (for sale here) and moderate watering. They cannot stand cold or frost.
Of all the varieties that exist, the most recommended is the Phalaenopsis 'Classic White', because it has immaculate white flowers.
Cow leg (forficata bauhinia)

La forficata bauhinia It is a deciduous tree native to Mexico, Argentina, Colombia and Uruguay that grows up to 7-10 meters. Its flowers are similar to those of orchids, which is why it is sometimes known as the orchid tree. These are large, measuring about 5 centimeters in diameter, and sprout in spring and summer.
To grow healthy requires a sunny exposure and moderate watering. It cannot stand drought, but waterlogging also hurts it. Otherwise, it supports up to -7ºC.
White rose (Rosa sp)
El rosebush It is a shrub, depending on the climbing species or not, originating especially from Asia. It can reach heights between 15 centimeters and more than 4-5 meters. The best known white flower variety is known as Rosal Pau Casals, which reaches 90 centimeters in height.
It produces flowers between 8 and 14 centimeters in diameter, very aromatic. Are sprout from spring to late summer, although for this they require sun and frequent watering, as well as the occasional pruning at the end of winter.
Supports up to -18ºC.
