And it is that if you are not going through your best moment, plants will attract positive things to your life, because they have the »strange» facility to force us to draw a smile to more than one. Especially there is one that you have surely seen on some occasion, it is even probable that you have it at home: it is the Lucky bamboo.

There goes the first one: they are not bamboos, although they are known by that popular name. In fact, the scientific name is Dracaena braunii, and is related to agaves (plants that are often very present in collections, both private and public, of plants from dry and warm climates). We are facing a species that has a rather low height, because does not exceed 2m, with thin stems of about 4cm in diameter and leaves of 30cm in length. It is native to the rainforests of West Africa.
They are not aquatic plants either. It is common to find them with the substrate very, very humid, even flooded, but the truth is that require land that is not permanently flooded. We can choose to simply put volcanic clay with a little peat. We will give it a weekly watering if we have it indoors; it will be two if it is outdoors, using rainwater, or drinking water.
It is ideal to have in a pot, decorating for example the living room. Does not require much light, but we do not have to put it in shady areas, otherwise it will not grow properly.
To achieve these peculiar twisted shapes, it takes a lot of patience, and gradually turn the pot so that the sun will give it in certain parts. It is very difficult, I already warn you, but… it is not impossible, and with time it can be achieved.
Important pests are not known, but you do have to be careful with them excess irrigation and frost. It is very sensitive to both problems, and either of them could leave us without a plant.
