If you've ever been to a nursery or garden store, you've probably come across small flowering cacti, right? Although all cacti bloom, not all do it at the same time, but for the sale of these plants to increase, for a few years it has been decided to stick a flower on them. This way, attract much more attention, so it sells more.

I will never forget the day when, in a nursery where cacti and succulents are produced and sold, they took a cactus to stick a flower on it. They wore gloves, goggles, and a silicone gun, which was very, very hot. And then just they put a little bit of silicone on the top of the plant, and glued the flower.

This inevitably leaves a mark on the cactus, since at the end of the day, it would be as if we were burned. The scab would form, which would harden, and when the skin had finally healed, we could easily remove it; but with the difference that the plant does leave a visible »scar», which will only be covered as it grows.

Can they be removed?

Fortunately, yes, but you have to do it very carefully and always keeping in mind what I said before: it will be a mark. So, if it is in an area like the cactus in the upper image, and if the plant also has short thorns, we will put on gloves, we will put the index finger and the thumb at the base of the flower, and we will remove it little by little.

On the other hand, if it is in an area of difficult access, we will have to help ourselves with a cuttex. When we finish, we will put healing paste on the wound to prevent fungi from affecting you.

Afterwards, we will only have to wait for it to bloom, which I anticipate that it will be quite a show .
