When talking about a low watering garden We often imagine a splendid green corner where the rains are so abundant that they water the plants, making them have excellent growth and development. But ... let me tell you that you can also enjoy an area full of plants in dry climates.
How? Very easy: you just have to follow the tips that I'm going to give you next.
Choose native plants
There are trees, such as the olive tree, the strawberry tree or the holly, that are perfect to shade your garden.
It is the most important thing. The autochthonous plants are those that live in our area, and therefore withstand the climatic conditions in that place without problems. They are, thus, the most appropriate to have in a garden with little irrigation, since they will only need us to take care of them for the first year; from the second, its roots will be able to withstand periods of drought.
And if you don't like plants in your area ...
Another option, if there is no native plant that convinces you, is choose plants that live in similar climates to yours. In order not to be mistaken, you can investigate the origin of the plant that you want to take home, or, if you do not want to complicate it, it will be enough for you to take home those that remain in the outdoor facilities of the nurseries that are closest to you.

Cacti and succulents are ideal to have in low-maintenance gardens.
The compact plants, with very thin leaves (like those of conifers), fleshy, small or with thorns, they are better prepared to withstand the drought. Thus, cacti and succulents, plants of Mediterranean origin (olive, holm oak, blackberry, rosemary, among others), palm trees such as those of the genus Phoenix, Washingtonia and Chamaerops, are just some of the most recommended plants for your garden of little irrigation.
