How to decorate a patio with flower pots

If there is something that a gardener may not like too much, it is having a space without soil, especially if he dreams of having a garden where he can relax. However, currently with pots it is very easy to make this illusion come true, since we not only have the ones that are sold in nurseries, but also we can choose to give a new life to those things that we would normally throw awaysuch as old tires or empty plastic paint buckets.

Choose rustic plants

To have an idyllic patio it is very important choosing plants that are resistant, that is, they can grow well outdoors throughout the year. The ideal is to opt for native plants, but since they are not always very popular, we can buy those that are in the outdoor facilities of the nurseries that we have closer to home, since this way we will enjoy taking care of them from the first day.

But not only the rusticity must be taken into account, but also the shape, size and color, since to decorate the patio correctly The plants must combine with the pots, the furniture, and the rest of the decorative elements.

Choosing the most elegant pots

In a patio decorated with flowerpots, you can obviously not miss the flowerpots. In the market we will find several types: plastic, ceramic, and even wood. All of them are highly recommended to have on the patio, but we have to bear in mind that if it is a very exposed area, pots that weigh little, such as plastic ones, can end up overturned by the wind.

Although this has an easy solution: choose to reuse the old tires. They look very good in any corner, and they are very cheap; so much so that in workshops they usually give them free. You just have to give them a coat of paint, place inside a piece of metallic cloth (grid) and another of shading mesh, substrate and the plants that we like the most, such as petunias, geraniums, calateas, aromatic ... 🙂

Incorporate some furniture

To be able to rest while we contemplate our beloved plants we can include some furniture. The plastic or stainless steel ones are the most used since they can be outside without being damaged, but rattan or wicker ones also look great.

And if we want to save, we can always choose to make them ourselves, with dry tree trunks, with pallets or with cement.
