If we talk about the soil, the best thing is that it grows in deep soils since chard can sink its roots up to 90 cm and that is how it will be able to obtain all the minerals it needs. In contrast, in the case of chard that are planted in pots, the roots are quickly wrapped in the container and leave little space to have another crop in the same container.

When the chard leaves reach 18 cm it is time to pull out the ones that are facing out. When the plant is larger, the green leaves and stalks are pulled out.

When cooking the chard, the leaves of the stalk (stem) must be boiled separately, since they have different cooking times. This delicious vegetable is eaten cooked and accompanies meat or chicken.
