Patio rose bushes get their name from their ability to adapt to containers and pots, without needing a spacious soil to grow and develop fully. These rose bushes are small and within the group are dwarf roses and miniature rose bushes that, although they have the same needs.

While it is true that when it comes to growing roses in pots the universe is shortened because you have to opt for those varieties that best adapt to living in limited conditions, the good news is that within the group of patio rose bushes there are a variety of colors and shapes, with the option of combining several pots in order to gather a mixed group of roses that will give life to the terrace or balcony.

Not all are the same and you have to choose those that are tall in order to offer the plant sufficient depth to allow its roots to extend without limit. To have beautiful potted rose bushes, there are two great cares that you have to follow. The first thing is to pay close attention to watering and be constant with it. Patio rose bushes require regular watering which should increase in summer and decrease in winter. During the summer season, it will be necessary to do it daily, spacing one watering every three days in winter.

On the other hand, keep in mind that plastic pots accumulate more water than terracotta ones because the material is not porous and that is why it does not evaporate so quickly so, depending on the type of pot, the watering will be more or less frequent.

In addition, the plant needs a soil rich in nutrients and that is why it is important to pay once or twice a month with a special fertilizer for rose bushes. If you choose the path of ecology, opt for an organic compost based on guano or worm castings.

Hello, I am very happy with all the information you provide, I have some doubts, it is the first time that I grow or let's say I am taking care of rose bushes, my little plant is a mini one and it is having little problems, it has all its leaves as burned and dry, what should I do to improve it ?

      Hi Avila.
Have you checked if it has any insects on the underside (behind) of the leaves? I recommend that you spray it with a broad spectrum insecticide, and if you have it in direct sun, move it to a bright place, but protected from it. Rose bushes are sunny plants, but mini ones grow best in semi-shade.
      A greeting.

      Hello Jose.
Rose bushes need a lot of water to flourish. During the summer, or if you live in an area with a hot climate as is the case, you have to water often, even every day or every other day.
If they are in a pot and you have a plate under them, you must remove the excess water 10 minutes after watering.
It is also important to pay. I recommend using guano (liquid), which is a very effective natural fertilizer. You must follow the instructions specified on the package to avoid overdose.

Remember to prune off faded flowers so that the plant can produce pretty roses.

      A greeting.

      Hello again.

You can fertilize your rose bushes in spring and summer, which is when they are growing and blooming. For example, with a little mulch or compost, or if you prefer a liquid fertilizer for plants, following the instructions specified on the package.

      Greetings.
