The decoration with thorny plants adds new followers every day. It is not surprising, since there are countless varieties and little by little more cultivars are coming out, each one more beautiful and ornamental.

Genus Astrophytum

These cacti have a slow growth, and as they have small dimensions (about 20 or 30cm in diameter by a maximum of 30-50cm in height) they are perfect for potting.
In addition to the cultivar Superkabuto, in nurseries and garden stores you will mainly find the Astrophytum ornatum and Astrophytum myriostigma. Both will fulfill their purpose of decorating your home in a spectacular way.
Genus Echinopsis

Those of the genre echinopsis They are cacti whose flowers have such beauty that it could be compared to, for example, those of the Hibiscus bushes (better known as the Rose of China). They are native to South America, where they grow exposed to direct sunlight. For this reason, if you opt for one of its 150 species, you should put it in a very bright room.
If we talk about varieties more suitable for the interior, the ones that I recommend above the others - in addition to the one you can see in the image - are the Echinopsis subdenudata, Echinopsis eyriesii and Echinopsis tiegeliana. These three may be in the same pot for many years, unlike for example the Echinopsis terscheckii that being columnar would end up needing either a larger pot or being planted in the ground.
Genus Mammillaria

Those of the genre Mammillaria They are also native to South America, especially Mexico. They are one of the easiest to care for, since they need very little space to be able to develop properly, and there is a great tendency to "pamper" them.

We finish with the cacti of the genus Rebutia, whose flowers will brighten up any bright corner of your home. They are originally from Argentina, Bolivia and Peru. They are plants of rather small dimensions, a characteristic for which they make them exceptional candidates to have in pots.
It is very difficult to recommend Rebutia species, since all of them will give you great satisfaction. But if there are some to be said, they would undoubtedly be the following: Muscle rebutia, Minuscule rebutia and Rebutia steinmannii.
