Originally from Europe, it is characterized by having prostrate stems that later rise, with slightly fleshy gray-green leaves. The flowers, which sprout in summer (from June to September in the Northern Hemisphere) appear grouped in cuddly, corymbiform inflorescences, in groups of 4 to 6. The fruit is a 4,5 to 5mm capsule, which opens leaving seeds 1mm long, warty.
