Fertilizer of Palm Trees in the Garden

As we mentioned before, there are two very important factors that we must take into account when plant our palm trees outside, we are talking about irrigation and subscriber.

In the previous post we talked a little about irrigation and the precautions that we must take regarding the amount that we provide to our plant.

In this post we will talk about fertilizer and the necessary nutrients that our palm tree needs to develop and grow correctly.

Palm trees generally do not require nutrient-rich soils, but we should not leave them without fertilizer for this reason, so if we fertilize them annually they will thank us for this, growing quickly and offering palms of intense and bright colors.

If the soil where we sow it is very poor and bad, we must bear in mind that the subscriber must be a little more frequent and much richer. This usually happens in rainy places, where most soils are sandy and lose nutrients due to deep mineral washing, so we must add a greater amount of fertilizer to the sandy soil, while in clay soil we can divide the fertilizer. throughout the year.

The subscriber can be of two types: organic or mineral:

The organic fertilizer must be provided around the plant. It should be 1 kilo of manure, peat or mulch, mixed with soil. You only have to bury it a little, so I recommend that you do not dig more than 5 centimeters deep because you could damage the superficial roots. This type of compost provides the plant with the necessary nutrients as it decomposes.

On the other hand, mineral fertilizer must be prepared with 50 grams of slow release mineral fertilizer or 15-15-15 complex fertilizer. Another option is to distribute this type of fertilizer several times a year, especially if the soil where the plant is found is sandy.
