How to care for plant leaves

Leaves

It is important that plant leaves are healthy and pretty. But many times, they wither and lose color and we don't know why. To keep them in good condition we offer you a series of tips to prevent problems and also to know how to fix them once they occur.

The first thing the leaves need is a good cleaning, since it is very common for dust to accumulate on them and clog the pores. To avoid this problem you should clean them delicately with a cloth dampened in water.

There are some species, very few, that cannot be sprayed with water or rubbed with a cloth because the protective layer that protects them from environmental aggressions is removed.

This is the case of the Saintpaulia or African violet, the elkhorn and the begonia rex. In these species, you must use a very soft brush to clean them.

Another very common problem is that leaves turn yellow. If they are this color, have brown spots and / or fall off, they may have excess irrigation. It may also be because the ambient air is very dry.

When the leaves are withered and they are dry only at their tips and edges, we are facing the opposite case. These plants need more water so you should increase the frequency of watering.

If the pale notes, without bright colors or flourish properly, we are surely facing a case of lack of light, so you should find a brighter place for it to develop correctly.
