What is La Libertia like?
L. chilensis
Libertia is the genus name for a series of rhizomatous perennial herbaceous plants in the Iridaceae family. Native to New Zealand, Australia, New Guinea, and the Andes, it is characterized by having linear leaves, usually green in color but can also be red or yellow depending on the species. The flowers are small, about 2cm, white or blue in color arranged in paniculate fascicles. The fruit is a trivalve capsule.
Its growth rate is quite fast, and reaches a height of about 40cm. In addition, its maintenance is very simple.
How do you take care of yourself?

If you want to have one or more copies, here is how to take care of them:
- Location: outside, in full sun. They can also be in semi-shade if it gives them more light than shade.
- Soil or substrate: they are not demanding. They grow without problems in any type of soil. Of course, it is important that you have a good sewer system.
- Irrigation: frequent, especially in summer. It should be watered three or four times a week during the warmer months, and once or twice a week the rest of the year.
