Origin and characteristics
Our protagonist is a plant native to Spain, France, Italy, North Africa, Algeria, Morocco and Tunisia. Its scientific name is linum suffruticosumAlthough it is popularly known as campanita, sessile flax, armed flax, flax with large and white flowers, wild flax, woody flax, sharp wild flax or yerba sanjuanera.
It is characterized by having stems of 5 to 40 centimeters, extended or ascending, highly branched at the bottom. The leaves are linear with tightly rolled margins. The flowers are about 2 centimeters long, white in color and appear in spring and summer.
What are their cares?
If you want to have a copy, we recommend that you provide it with the following care:
- Location: Linum suffruticosum must be outdoors, in full sun.
- Earth:
- Pot: universal growing substrate.
- Garden: it is indifferent. Tolerates both acids and limestone.
- Irrigation: it has to be watered about 3 times a week in summer and every 3-4 days the rest of the year. In any case, if in doubt, the humidity of the soil should be checked, for example by inserting a thin wooden stick all the way to the bottom. If it comes out practically clean, we will not water.
