The genus Anigozanthos, better known by the common name »Kangaroo legs»By the shape of their flowers, is originally from Australia. It comprises about 70 species, of which the best known are the Anigozanthos manglesii and Anigozanthos flavidus.
They are shrubs of about a meter in height that require little care to keep in good condition.
The flowers of the Kangaroo Paws appear clusters, and are brightly colored like red or orange, tubular in shape and velvety.
Shipping is outdoor plants, which should be placed in full sun or semi-shade. We can also have them indoors, as long as the room is very bright.
They resist cold well, but not frost. If we live in an area where the temperature drops below -2º, we must protect them indoors or in a greenhouse.

Kangaroo Paws they hardly need fertilizer. They have adapted to living in very dry land, with few nutrients. Half the recommended dose once a month during the flowering period, which runs from March to October, will suffice.
They are plants that can be attacked by aphids, and by fungi if the humidity is excessive, which must be eradicated with specific products.
