Tips for choosing a tree

The trees They are plants that can reach immense heights, so when starting to design our garden it is highly recommended to locate them first and then plant those that are smaller. In this way, we will avoid that in the future we have to reposition the green elements of our special corner, or that we are even forced to cut down the tree.

This is undoubtedly the most common mistake: being impatient. We all would like to have a beautiful garden in the same year, but unfortunately each plant has its own rhythm and, although there are some faster than others, it is very difficult to achieve a beautiful plant paradise in such a short time. So, take note of these tips for choosing a tree and I assure you that one day, in less than you expect, you will be able to enjoy its shade and color.

To consider

Trees in garden

There are thousands of species of trees, and they all live in slightly different climatic regions: there are some tropical, others that endure subzero temperatures, and others that have adapted to very hot days and very cold nights. As there are so many, sometimes it is not easy to choose just one, so one of the tips that I give you is ...: give native trees a chance. They are much more resistant than the exotics, so you will not have any problem with them. Now, if you don't like them, you can always choose to plant those that live in climates similar to yours.

Another issue that we cannot stop talking about is its own size. If you have a large garden, then you can plant a tree that needs a lot of space, such as Ficus; on the other hand, if it is rather small, a lower one will be much more beautifulAs a Lagerstroemia indica for example.

Delonix direction

And, evergreen or deciduous? Well, the decision is very personal. Most deciduous trees wear red, orange, or yellow in the fall, but they need a climate with well differentiated seasons in order to survive; instead, the evergreen ones are usually much cleaner, being ideal to put in our picnic area or near the lawn.

Finally, we cannot forget about the roots. It is very important always know the behavior of the root system of plants that we want to put, otherwise we would end up having problems. There are many trees, such as Ficus, Delonix, Salyx, among others, whose roots are very invasive and, as a consequence, must be planted at a minimum distance of 10m from any construction and pipes.

So you can have a nice and cheap garden 😉.
