When we have a diseased plant there are a number of things that we must do and others that we should not. Today we will give you Tricks and tips so that you can recover a plant that has had a problem as soon as possible, so that it can resume its growth and, above all, return to good health. There are many products on the market: fertilizers, fertilizers, insecticides, fungicides ... and practically all of us have fallen into the error of thinking that, if we fertilize a plant with problems, it will have more energy and it will be able to recover faster. This, as we said, is a mistake since that plant at this time does not need food to grow -which is what compost really serves-, but rather to eliminate that pest or disease.
It is important to keep this in mind because many times we use products believing that they will be of great use to us, and then unfortunately it turns out that the remedy is worse than the disease itself. But do not worry. Next we will tell you how to treat a plant with problems.
Once it is detected that a plant is sick with fungi and / or parasites, the most advisable thing is -if it is in a pot- separate it from the rest in order to avoid contagion. If, on the other hand, it is in the garden, we will proceed to apply the remedy directly. In both cases it will be the following:
- In the event that we are watering too much, something that favors the appearance of fungi, we will let the substrate dry before watering again. For fungi we can use fungicides, or make infusions with nettle. To prevent, we will water whenever necessary and, in case of doubt, we will insert a stick (or a finger) into the substrate to check the humidity.
- Mealybugs and aphids love the dryness of the environment and especially the heat. At any slight sign of weakness, they take advantage of the plant. To combat it, in addition to using specific chemical insecticides, we can use Neem oil combined with a clove of garlic that we will place on the surface of the pot. To prevent them, you can spray it early in the morning if we live in a very dry climate, or place several glasses of water around it in order to increase the humidity of the environment.
- To avoid having ants on the trunks of the trees, we will rub them with lemon.
What do you think of these remedies? Did you know them?
Thanks for your helpful advice, please

Hello Fanny, thank you for following us.
For ferns, there is nothing better than using an organic compost, such as worm castings or horse manure. Spread a little on the surface of the pot and water abundantly.
Most species will live well in semi-shade, receiving a lot of light but not direct sunlight as the sun's rays could burn their leaves.
A greeting!
It is curious that to avoid ants on the trunks they are rubbed with lemon but lemon trees can be infested with ants.
I have two peppermint plants and they have a plague, they are eating the little eyes of the plant. How do I recover them?
Hi Lizette.
What kind of insect is it? For now, I recommend spraying with an ecological Neem oil insecticide, you can also make infusions with garlic and spray the plant.
A greeting.
