After the end of the summer, we can finally begin to acquire the bulbs that will bloom during the next spring. The most popular are undoubtedly tulips, small plants with spectacular flowers. They are also very easy to grow, so if you do not have much experience in the care of plant beings, start with them and you will see how you enjoy 🙂.

There are about 200 hybrids and more than 5 thousand cultivars registered, and this is a figure that is increasing, since tulip mania (that is, the love of collecting tulips) is also gaining more and more followers. Something that is not surprising, since they are very decorative flowers suitable to have in pots or in the garden, combining several different ones or choosing to put only one type.
Depending on which it is, they will have flowers of a single color (red, yellow, white or black) such as the Darwin Hybrid Tulips, be bicolor like the Lampshade »Spring Green», or have the petals a little mottled like the Tulipa »Papagayo»; not to mention that some have double flowers like the Lampshade »Murillo».
Most tulips have simple flowers, one or two colors, with more or less thin petals. If they are exposed directly to the sun -something that is recommended-, they will have them closed; on the other hand, if they lack light, it is very possible that they open them.
Some cultivars give off a very pleasant aroma, such as Gesneriana tulip for example, it grows to a height of approximately 50cm; others have the peculiarity that they adapt to living in very cold climates, such as the »Triumph»; and others, on the other hand, will give us quite large flowers, such as the »Cottage», Whose bulb has an adult diameter of 12cm.
